i'm a mad aussie bloke, wanting to build a magical flying machine. i wish to introduce my self, i'm Tony. there is a few things i need and a few things i need answered. the plans for the tornado i have but i don't read french is it possible to be emailed a copy in english.

the tornado i am going to build will be twice the size with twin fans, powered by a 2.0 litre engine with about 90-100 horse power( need to check this though) with dual toothed 50mm 'v' belts, with both fan measuring 1100mm withn parrelel air flow through the hull, will this fly???????

i am hoping to make it with detachable semi to fully enclosed cockpit.

hi, i have just started to seriously think i am mad. i am about to build a hovercraft. i am excited. i am building the tornado but i am going to double the size and modifying it to have two fans powered by a 2.0 litre four cylinder engine. i want a craft that will hold my family. i am thinking of may be having a closed cabin. i will be making it out of 6 or 8mm marine ply with fibreglass re inforced skin. do you think it would fly. i have been making alot of calculations and i believe it should as the engine only weighs a total of 180kg. love to hear comments from any one who wish to put their imput in as all comment will be welcome and considered. thank you every one tony

hi tony,

Not English translation only :

All is metric measurement (mm=milimeter)

Cp5= marin plywood 5 mm

Cp8= marin plywood 8 mm

you can found more information alos here:

with:

It's your first craft, i think.
I am frightened a little because you want directly modified measurements. it would be better to follow the plans for your first machine!! , no ?

Hi Tony,

            Like you, I am an Aussie two. But unlike you I am not mad! I really think you should take Pascal's advice and build the original tried design first. I have started building the Tornado Pointu albeit slowly. The design is very simple and incredibly cheap for materials. I have had the plans and worked things out over a period of about 6 months until I was ready to start building. If I can offer any advice at all please ask as both myself and the guys on this forum are only too pleased to help
