Bonjour

Sorry but that is almost the full extent of my French.I am hoping that all my European friends are more educated than me, and can understand English.

My intention is to build the Tornado using a Villiers 3T 325cc two stroke twin engine. This engine is my choice because I have had it in my shed for about 10 years. It is brand new and has never been run yet. My concern is that it may not be powerfull enough for the craft. The rated horsepower is 18hp. I am considering running a multiblade fan directly from the crankshaft.

I would apreciate any advise which anyone can give

Finally I buit my own "Tornado" and started tests.

and in annex some new photos.

And now I have some important questions:

In tests on a hard surface was OK. (Asphalt parking lot)
Lifting good in my opinion, a little worse with a thrust.

Flying on the grass (football field) - thrust - very weak.
Thrust is weak.
For this reason I did not have tests on the water.

I tried to measure thrust using a bathroom scale (he,he biggrin

- and results is aprox.30-33 kG
In my opinion very bad.

What is wrong?
Why the thrust is weak ?

I have installed 55 HP Suzuki motor. (max.power at 5500 rpm)
Multi-Wing impeller 800/7-7/PAG/ 5ZL
A belt transmission ratio is 1.84
Total weight aprox.200 kg
Splitter is situated 165 mm below axe of impeller.
Duct diameter 810 mm.

Can you advise me something?
What can I change in it?

Combien de trous as-tu fait dans la jupe ??
C'est peut être ça le problème.

Quel est le poids total de la machine complète??

Je pense que cet aéroglisseur est lourd.
Il y a aussi un problème au niveau de la transmission. L'hélice tourne trop lentement pour un diamètre de 800 mm

Si l'hélice tourne plus vite, la pression sous la coque pourra être supérieure.
