Bonjour Sorry but that is almost the full extent of my French.I am hoping that all my European friends are more educated than me, and can understand English. My intention is to build the Tornado using a Villiers 3T 325cc two stroke twin engine. This engine is my choice because I have had it in my shed for about 10 years. It is brand new and has never been run yet. My concern is that it may not be powerfull enough for the craft. The rated horsepower is 18hp. I am considering running a multiblade fan directly from the crankshaft. I would apreciate any advise which anyone can give Merci bien |

Why not 800 mm??? The 800 mm fan for 3000RPM has the same characteristic as 900 mm for 2800RPM but better efficiency!!!! If you want I can send you MultiWing Optimiser- programme which in easy way you can estimate fan for multi parameters. Could you explain why TornadoSharp is better??? |

Hi ian, Jean-charles design with 800mm because Tornado can used for Formula 2 and Formula S (in 1992 FS is limited to 800mm) Turn less speed with a 900 or 1000 or 1100 mm it's better. Multiwing optimizer it's for industrial application, not for dynamic vehicule. >Could you explain why TornadoSharp is better??? Less plywwod to building.easy to build bag-skirtbetter air-cushion (my experience)better DragDrag coefficient I have built 1 tornado original, and 4 sharped version (wood, fiber glass/resin, polysthyrene/ PU resin and Aluminium body with 93 HP, 50 HP, 20 HP and 25HP) hope this help you Pascall |

Hi Pascal, Please take a look at this site. http://www.kompozyty.trigger.pl/osa_sport2.php There is an interesting concept, one motor drives the fan lift and thrust. Fan blades have different directions (right and left). I wonder if similar measures are not applied to the tornado that I do. |

Hi Pascall,
I spent the whole winter to prepare for the drive unit built Tornado Point. The powerpack is already prepared and tested. Today I began the construction of the hull, and I therefore have a few questions. You posted in the forum that you have built a hovercraft with motor 90 HP.
Can you give me some guidance on the hull for such a huge engine? How much heavy ( kg) your engine 90 HP is ? Is the hull needs to be strengthened and reinforced? Which places should be strengthened? Whether to apply a thicker plywood to the bottom and sides? What propeller (rotor) to apply? How to Perform a Balancing hovercraft? Do I need to apply more rudder? eg 3 or 4
